DELIVERY
DELIVERY 1
WHEN SHOULD I ORDER PROPANE?
Our recommendation is to order a propane refill when your tank level gets to approximately 20-30%. This is what is known as "the sweet spot" where you leave enough room to get on the schedule before running out, and should expect to take enough gas to meet any delivery minimums.

If you are in an outlying service area or notice you have above average usage you will need to schedule sooner so you do not run the risk of running your tank empty.

Prefer not to call to schedule a refill? Call our office to explore our autofill options or simply fill out our online refill request form here.
DELIVERY 2
WHEN CAN I EXPECT A DELIVERY?
Delivery schedules are seasonally based and should always be verified by calling your local A&B Office at (928) 854-4099.

On average you can expect any local deliveries to have an average response time of next-day service. This of course is dependent on the time of year and seasonality of weather patterns.

For outlying areas you can expect a once-a-week set delivery day which can be verified for your area by calling our local office.

For any deliveries to your camping site you can visit your camp office for the scheduled weekly delivery date in the winter season or call our office. For summer refills you can expect service to the RV parks once-a-month and will need to call our local office directly for dates.
DELIVERY 3
ARE THERE ANY FEES OR MINIMUMS?
Delivery fees and minimums are subject to vary based on type of delivery and location.

All bulk deliveries have a mandatory $10 delivery fee per trip and are subject to a 25 gallon minimum.

Any residential small cylinder or RV deliveries have a mandatory $10 delivery fee per trip and are subject to a 5 gallon minimum.

Any RV park specific deliveries to RV parks we have a prior working relationship with do not have a delivery fee (as long as it falls on the scheduled day for your RV park) but will be subject to a 5 gallon minimum.

If your RV park is not one of our established seasonal park stops, you maybe subject to a $10 delivery fee.

For all emergency or off-hours/schedule deliveries there will be a non-negotiable $300 call-out fee and you are required to fill the tank.

DELIVERY 4
HOW DO I PAY FOR MY DELIVERY?
Payment for delivery is due in full at time of delivery. This can either be prepaid over the phone, paid to the driver via cash, check, or card, or you can contact our office to set up a credit card to automatically run after delivery.
WHY ISN'T MY TANK FILLED TO 100%?
DELIVERY 5
Tanks are filled to a maximum of 80% to allow for expansion of the liquid from outside temperature variations. Summer heat, snow, or humid weather are all factors that affect the liquid inside of the tank.

In the summer months when our Arizona heat is at it's peak you can expect for our drivers to fill the tank anywhere between 60-70% to allow for extra expansion in extreme temperatures.

*A&B Propane is not responsible for any loss of gas incurred for over pressurized tanks due to inclement weather.  For more information click here.
HOW DO I READ MY TANK GAUGE?
DELIVERY 6
All bulk propane tanks have a gauge located under the lid on top of the tank. The numbers represent the percentage of propane in the tank. Usually the dial will indicate the tank level anywhere from 5 to 95 percent.

Please keep in mind the gauge is an estimation of gallons in the tank and is only accurate within a 10% range.

Each mark on the gauge can mean a different gallon amount depending on the tank size. Please view our quick guide below to learn more:

SERVICE
HOW LONG WILL MY INSTALLATION TAKE?
SERVICE 1
The actual installation portion that our team will be onsite for, can take anywhere from 5 to 7 days; however, due to permitting and inspection wait times this timeline is subject to increase. All of this is dependent on the complexity of your installation as well as any possible delays while waiting for an inspection or permit.

All permits and inspections are required through local municipalities and we are subject to their timing, scheduling, and holidays.

If you are working within a time constraint please make sure to plan accordingly and in advance.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER I APPROVE MY ESTIMATE AND PAY MY DEPOSIT?
SERVICE 2
Once the deposit has been paid, our team will submit the necessary permit paperwork to the corresponding agencies.

We expect up to
a 14-day delay for permit approval, which is unfortunately out of our control and completely dependent on the municipalities responsible for approving the permits and inspections.

After approval of the permit, your job will be scheduled to be started within a
2-week period.

Please note that if you make any additions or changes during the course of your project that were not originally quoted you are subject to further charges on your final invoice as well as extending the original timeline of your installation.
SERVICE 3
WHY AM I REQUIRED TO PAY A DEPOSIT?
Upon approval of any estimates A&B Propane requires a 50% deposit to be applied towards the final invoice. Deposits are required for all jobs and no permitting will begin until the deposit amount has been received by our office.

Due to a history of lack of payment upon job completion in the past, this requirement is non-negotiable but can be refunded at any time if anything changes in regards to your job.
SERVICE 4
WHY DID I GET MULTIPLE INVOICES FOR MY INSTALLATION?
The billing for installations works in a three part process: deposit, first fill, and final invoice.

Your first payment will be a deposit of 50% of the estimate, which is required in order to get your job started and will be applied towards your final install invoice.

During the installation process, when your tank gets its first fill of propane, you will then receive a copy of the invoice for the delivery. This will be the second payment.

Upon job completion, any adjustments will be made to the estimate to reflect changes made during installation and your original 50% deposit will be applied towards the total. The remaining balance will be your third payment.

*To avoid any disruptions of service or disconnection, please make your final install payment immediately following job completion

GENERAL
WHAT DO I DO IF I SUSPECT A LEAK?
Leak calls are a priority for A&B Propane but if you are experiencing an uncontrolled gas leak and require immediate service please call emergency services.

If you suspect you may have a non-emergent gas leak, please reach out to our service department immediately by calling our office and they will schedule a technician to service you.

In the case of a suspected leak, please ensure the tank is turned off, the area is well-ventilated, and all potential sources of ignition are a safe distance away.
GENERAL 1
DO I GET A REFUND IF MY TANK LEAKS?
If you suspect you may have a leak you have 30 days from the date of delivery to report the leak to be eligible for a gas refund.

Rental Tanks: If the cause of the leak is determined to be an issue with the tank itself or a direct result of something that was mishandled during time of delivery, you may be eligible for a gas refund.

Owner Tanks: If the cause of the leak is determined to be an issue that is a direct result of something that was mishandled during time of delivery, you may be eligible for a gas refund. Any loss of gas due to issues with the tank itself are the responsibility of the owner of the tank.
GENERAL 2
DO I GET A REFUND IF MY TANK RELIEVES ITSELF?
In the event that your tank is over-heated and relieves itself of excess gas due to extreme temperatures A&B Propane will not be responsible for any loss of gas.

If the tank relieves itself as a direct result of something that was mishandled during time of delivery, you may be eligible for a gas refund if reported in a 30 day window from date of delivery.
GENERAL 3
WHAT DOES IT MEAN IF I RENT MY TANK?
A bulk tank can be leased or purchased outright at the time of installation. Choosing to purchase or rent a tank can vary depending on customer preference and budget.

A leased tank is a budget-friendly option for most customers that allows you to have a company's tank on-site for a minimal annual fee. Any maintenance or repairs of the tank itself are the primary responsibility of the company and the tank remains the sole property of the company.

Most rental tanks are indicated with a company's sticker to identify it, as they are the only company allowed to put gas in it.
GENERAL 4
WHAT IF MY TANK HAS A DIFFERENT COMPANIES STICKER ON IT?
GENERAL 5
The easiest way to identify whether you tank is owned or leased is by whether or not it has a company's name on it. If the tank on your property has a sticker on it that does not say A&B Propane, we will not be able to service or deliver to your tank.

We will happily provide a free estimate to swap the tank for an A&B Propane rental tank so you can experience hassle free propane!
WHAT IF I SELL MY HOUSE?
If you have leased equipment at your property, it is your responsibility to notify A&B Propane that the property will be changing hands and clear out any and all balances owed on the account. Upon failure to notify A&B Propane you will be liable for any expenses incurred as a result.

*Please note that there are no refunds on gas or rental fees in the event the property changes ownership. All of these expenses are something you should work with a realtor to include in the value of the property.
GENERAL 6
WHAT IF I NO LONGER NEED MY TANK?
In the event that you find you no longer need your tank you can call our local office and have it scheduled to be picked up.

Please note that there are no refunds on gas or rental fees in the event that you request your tank be picked up.

Our recommendation is to use the remaining gas in your tank and have it picked up when it is empty to avoid any loss of paid gas.
GENERAL 7
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO HEAT MY POOL?
GENERAL 8
Figuring out how much it is going to cost you to heat your pool with propane is going to vary depending on pool size, water temperature, ambient air temperature, heater efficiency, seasonal gas pricing and much more.

Since every customer is different, the best thing to do is monitor your pool or spa's usage the first time you heat it. Make note of the temperature you started at and what temperature you set it to as well as where your tank level was when you started and where it was once the pool was up to heat.

A very general rule of thumb we use is
5 gals per degree. So, if you are expecting to raise your pool temperature 20 degrees, you should expect to use around 100 gallons just to get it up to heat. Once the water is warm it will use significantly less gas to keep it at temperature.

CAN MY RENTER/GUEST CONTACT YOU DIRECTLY?
We do our best to accommodate our homeowners and property managers requests to aid them in having a seamless guest experience.

Unfortunately, due to a history of non-payment and the complexity of billing guests instead of the recorded homeowner on file, we are no longer able to hold any billing information for guests staying less than 3 consecutive months at a property.

Any long-term guests of 3+ consecutive months will still be able contact us for billing.

*Please note that the property owner on file for the account is ultimately the responsible party for any charges incurred on the account. Any non-payment can result in a disruption of service or tank lock-out.
